As a small business owner and veteran, I am so appreciative of the opportunity to care for and interact with you and your pet(s)! I know your pets are members of your family, just as mine are. I will always treat your pet safely and respectfully as if it is one of my own.

Having grown up in rural Pennsylvania, my love of animals first developed while caring for my family pets and learning to ride horses. Following my first assignment as a Military Working Dog handler, I realized my true passion is in training dogs – seeing the progression from untrained to trained, and the bond developed between dog and handler/owner.

I knew I wanted to continue caring for and training dogs outside of a military career, which is why I decided to build a facility on the property on which I also live. I am always a short walking distance from my facility which I have customized and truly made my very own.

GIVING BACK

Muddy Paws will be holding fundraisers periodically to support the US War Dogs Association and Mission K9 Rescue. April has been a recipient of both organizations and is very passionate about giving back to both of them.

Mission K9 Rescue provides assistance and support for Working Dogs worldwide. Our organization’s purpose for existence is to serve retiring and retired Military Working Dogs, Contract Working Dogs, and other Dogs who Serve as they may fit into our mission and scope.

"In 2016 Mission K9 Rescue facilitated the transport of my retired Military Working Dog Zora from Alaska where we were previously stationed together to Maryland where I lived at the time. Over the years Mission K9 has been instrumental in helping several of my K9 brothers and sisters reunite with their retired working dogs as well as covering medical bills for their dogs during retirement."
~April

The United States War Dogs Association is a nonprofit organization of Former and Current US Military Dog Handlers and supporting members committed to promoting the long history of the Military Service Dogs, establishing permanent War Dog Memorials, and educating the public about the invaluable service of these canines to our country.

"When I was deployed to Afghanistan, much needed K9 supplies were very difficult to obtain. I contacted Ron from the US War Dogs Association with a list of needed gear and within a few weeks we had BOXES of goodies and supplies for our dogs, along with some stuff for the handlers too! I've also had several retired working dogs enrolled in their Rx Program, which has been a huge cost savings!"
